The Nikon Speedlight SB-5000 is a radio-controlled Nikon system flash unit. Fast, reliable and versatile, the SB-5000 provides outstanding illumination for both outdoor and studio use. Radio signals allow use within a 30-meter radius and support complex setups, both with the flash attached to the camera and unleashed: now you can work without direct line of sight or in bright sunlight that would interfere with an optical signal. The new built-in cooling system allows over 100 shots in rapid succession at full flash power. For photographers who want to capture the decisive moment spontaneously, the lightweight, compact SB-5000 offers clearly arranged controls for intuitive use. Guide number (m, based on ISO 100): 34.5 (at 35 mm); 55 (at 200 mm), FX format, "Standard" illumination profile Power: 1/1 to 1/256 (in steps of 1/3 EV, manual mode) Zoom reflector: Covering the image angle of a lens focal length of 24 to 200 mm, 14 mm with wide-angle diffuser (for FX format, "standard" illumination profile) Flash control: i-TTL, AA auto flash; A auto flash, manual flash control with distance setting, manual flash control, strobe flash Additional functions: test flash, measuring flashes, AF auxiliary light for multi-segment autofocus, modelling light Recording functions (setting on the camera): Automatic FP short time synchronization, flash exposure lock, long time synchronization, red-eye reduction, synchronization to the second shutter curtain, exposure correction Indirect lighting: The flash reflector can be tilted down to -7° or up to 90° and rotated 180° left and right. Number of flashes: 150 or more (alkaline batteries)/190 or more (Ni-MH batteries) Minimum charging time: approx. 2.6 s (alkaline batteries)/ approx. 1.8 s (Ni-MH batteries) AF auxiliary light: Covers the focal length range from 24 to 135 mm Functions for multi-flash system: Advanced Wireless Lighting: STL with radio control (master + six groups; radio remote control WR-R10 required)/ STL with optical control (master + three groups) Power supply: Four Mignon accumulators/batteries (alkaline manganese or Ni-MH accumulator), high-performance battery pack SD-9 Weight: approx. 420 g (housing only)
