At 711rent, we're proud to offer the Canon EOS Cinema Series — a range of cutting-edge cameras built for professional filmmaking. Whether you're shooting high-end commercials, documentaries, or creative content, these models deliver the flexibility and performance today's productions demand. Here's a closer look at the EOS C80, C70, C400, and R5 C.

Canon EOS C80
The Canon EOS C80 is a compact cinema camera built around a 6K full-frame back-illuminated stacked CMOS sensor. It stands out with its triple base ISO of 800, 3200, and 12800, making it highly adaptable for various lighting situations. Canon has equipped it with a versatile RF mount, which can also be adapted to PL or EF lenses. The C80 offers internal recording in 12-bit Cinema RAW Light, as well as XF-AVC and the new XF-HEVC S format. It supports frame rates up to 6K at 30p and 4K at 120p, providing excellent flexibility for filmmakers. Autofocus is handled by Canon’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system with EOS iTR AF X for intelligent tracking. Despite its small size, the camera includes professional connectivity options like 12G-SDI, HDMI, and dual SD card slots. It also supports HDR workflows with Canon Log 2/3, PQ, and HLG. This camera is clearly targeted at filmmakers looking for a balance between portability and pro-level capabilities.

Canon EOS C70
The Canon EOS C70 brings cinema-level features into a very compact Super 35mm body. It uses a Dual Gain Output (DGO) sensor that delivers up to 16+ stops of dynamic range, which is impressive for such a small form factor. It records in 4:2:2 10-bit XF-AVC and also supports HEVC MP4 recording. The C70 supports 4K at 120fps and can even reach 180fps in 2K crop mode, making it a strong candidate for slow-motion production. With its RF mount, the camera offers native compatibility with Canon’s newer lens ecosystem. One of its signature features is the built-in motorized ND filter system, which is rare for a camera of this size. Dual mini-XLR inputs round out the audio side, allowing for proper professional audio capture. The C70 is ideal for creators who want the cinema look without the bulk of a traditional cinema rig.

Canon EOS C400
The EOS C400 is Canon’s latest flagship in their cinema line, equipped with the same 6K full-frame back-illuminated stacked CMOS sensor as the C80 but designed with even more professional applications in mind. It features the same triple base ISO values (800, 3200, 12800), but steps up the internal recording capabilities with 6K at 60p and 4K at 120p in Cinema RAW Light. It supports a wide range of codecs including XF-AVC and the more efficient XF-HEVC S format. Like the C80, it uses an RF mount that can be adapted to both EF and PL lenses, which opens it up to cinema lens workflows. Autofocus is handled by Dual Pixel CMOS AF II with Canon’s intelligent subject tracking system (EOS iTR AF X). The camera includes built-in mechanical ND filters, a robust suite of I/O including 12G-SDI, HDMI, Genlock, Timecode, and even Ethernet and Wi-Fi, making it highly suitable for studio and broadcast setups. The C400 is aimed squarely at high-end productions needing full-format flexibility, advanced autofocus, and high-end connectivity in a single-body solution.

Canon EOS R5 C
The Canon EOS R5 C bridges the gap between cinema and still photography. Based on the highly popular EOS R5, the R5 C shares the same 45-megapixel full-frame sensor but adds internal active cooling and full cinema recording capabilities. It can shoot 8K at 60p in Cinema RAW Light and up to 120fps in 4K. The R5 C features Canon’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system with eye, face, and head detection, along with animal tracking, making it an excellent hybrid option. Unlike traditional cinema cameras, it also excels at photography, offering burst shooting at up to 20 frames per second and high-resolution stills. While it lacks in-body image stabilization (IBIS), it includes an electronic stabilization system that works well with optically stabilized lenses. Its small form factor and dual-purpose design make it perfect for content creators who need high-end stills and video from one camera without compromise. Active cooling ensures long takes at full resolution — something that was a limiting factor in the original R5.
